Joel Noutere
Adoption Associate
Joel’s role at NIF is to drive the adoption of defence technology across the Nordic Region and the Baltics. He has a background in Molecular Biosciences, served in the Finnish Army, and has been part of the Finnish Defence Forces reserve since 2011. He trains regularly with his assigned reserve readiness unit. Joel has been a startup founder, held commercial roles at several other startups, and worked at the University of Helsinki on research commercialisation.
Prior to joining NIF, Joel founded the Nordic Defence Innovation Foundry, a non-profit that develops the Nordic defence-tech ecosystem and aims to expand the network of defence-industry professionals, investors, and government stakeholders.
In Finland, much of Joel’s free time was spent in military exercises and reservist shooting competitions. Since relocating to Amsterdam, other outdoor activities have taken the lead – along with spending time with his dog.
