NATO Innovation Fund Appoints Nur Özdemir as Partner to Lead Fund of Funds Investing 

  • With experience at the European Investment Fund (EIF)and European Investment Bank (EIB), Nur brings experience in investing in diverse ecosystems across Europe. 

• Appointment accelerates the Fund’s progress towards catalysing Defence, Security and Resilience ecosystemsacross Allied nations. 

 The NATO Innovation Fund (NIF) today announced the appointment of Nur Özdemir as Partner, where she will lead the Fund’s investing activities with a focus on building the capacity of Defence, Security and Resilience ecosystems in frontier nations where there is a mismatch between available capital and the pace of technological innovation. Nur will be based in Amsterdam.

Nur will join the NATO Innovation Fund with significant experience spanning venture capital, ecosystem development, and institutional investing across Europe. She has held investment roles at the European Investment Fund (EIF), and European Investment Bank (EIB) and has experience investing in diverse markets – from Portugal, Türkiye, and Italy, to Germany and Norway – supporting the growth of innovation ecosystems and strengthening access to capital for emerging technology companies.

At NIF, Nur will play a central role in accelerating the Fund’s indirect investing, while helping strengthen the networks, expertise, and institutional capacity needed to enable sustained technological leadership across the Alliance. Her appointment reflects NIF’s continued commitment to supporting the full innovation lifecycle -from early-stage company formation to ecosystem maturity and industrial scale-up – ensuring that critical technologies can be developed and adopted across all NATO nations.

The Alliance’s technological edge depends not only on breakthrough ideas, but also on the strength of the investors who support entrepreneurs building DSR capabilities in innovation ecosystems across our nations.
