Hugo has nearly a decade of experience working with high-growth technology businesses as both an investor and an operator. Prior to joining the NATO Innovation Fund, he was an investor at 24Haymarket and Maven Capital Partners, focused on early-stage and growth investments.

As an investor, Hugo has backed businesses across the deep tech spectrum, including artificial intelligence, autonomy, cybersecurity and resilient supply chains. He has worked with companies from initial investment through to exit and has held several board and board observer positions.

Hugo also spent time at Multiverse Computing, a quantum AI company, where he led the company’s $200 million Series B fundraise and worked across fundraising strategy and investor relations during a period of rapid international growth.

Hugo holds an MA in Economic History from the University of Edinburgh. Outside of work, he can usually be found chasing golf balls or in the mountains.
